HISTORY
The subject Assamese was started as compulsory subject along with MIL as Assamese from the very inception of the college. i.e. 1992-93 vide Order No. DU/IC/Per-Aff/93/123-28 The concerned Dibrugarh University accorded permission to start this subject general standard at first, then, accorded permission to start Major /Honours in Assamese in 1994-95 vide Order No. DU/RG/IC/Perm/95-96/1174-78 Dated : .01/06/1995. w.e.f. 1994-95.

Assamese is our mother tongue, so our mission is to create the next generation the perfect speaker, reader and learner of the Assamese Language with the best of grammatical knowledge, professional ethics and human values.
